Education for professionals
The Faculty of Engineering (LTH) at Lund University offers a free-standing course in Smart Manufacturing that has been developed with professionals in mind. The course is given every spring as distance studies, at part-time (25% of full time) and in English.
Smart Manufacturing
This course is for those who want to learn the fundamental and most important aspects of AI implementation in manufacturing processes, from machining operations to production quality control and production cost analysis. The course includes a brief introduction to machining operations, an in-depth study of machining dynamics and its influence on the process and production quality, monitoring of process parameters, sensors and data collection systems. The course will include Big Data, data processing and data organisation, the development of machine learning (ML) algorithms and their implementation in manufacturing processes. It is recommended that students have practical and theoretical experience of manufacturing processes in order to fully benefit from the course.
